Collingswood
Shakespeare Company
presents
the 2nd installment of our Coffee and
Shakespeare discussion series:
|

|

Shakespeare's
plays are filled with couples who grapple mightily with the experience
of Love: they struggle to be together, struggle to stay apart, struggle
against outside forces as well as against their own inner fears
and doubts. Each couple ultimately finds a way to be together in
the end, even if only in death.
• What points might Shakespeare
may be trying to make regarding his various couplings?
• What common threads characterize his seeming opinions on
Love?
• What barriers
does Shakespeare place in the way of his characters along the path
to Love?
• Might he propose that
those who throw themselves into their relationship--like Orlando
and Rosalinde--are more likely to be happy than those who resist,
such as Kate and Petruchio?
Join us as we explore
these timeless themes (and many more!) along with our group moderator,
local playwright and director Gerald van Wilgen, at the Collingswood
Public Library for a little free coffee, snacks, and lots of great
discussion!
